At first glance, Luxord comes across as a charming gentleman, polite with only his smug arrogance as a hint to what really lurks behind the calm appearance. However, under this façade, he’s a rigid gambler, seeking nothing out of life but to further enhance his experiences and his own entertainment. His demeanor is most often calm and he is known to have a air of an intelligent business man, but despite this, he has an almost playful outlook on life. Much of the time, he rarely shows loyalty to anyone unless he deems him or her worthy of it.

In addition, Lady Luck seems to have taken a liking to Luxord, though many claim he cheats through use of quick hand tricks. Whether this is true or not, however, he claims cheating is an insult to himself and other ‘honest’ gamblers, and often times, he can see right through another person’s cheating and when he catches them, he often takes action to correct such insults to himself and others, revealing a darker nature of personality.

Along with cheaters, he also has no patience for those who get in his way, more or less treating them to the same form of action, should they manage to break through his smug, yet calm demeanor. After all is said and done, he always finds a way to come away with his hands clean more often then not.

By the time Luxord was born, his father was already owner of several underground casinos around the city of Gilgamesh and his family rose from the middle class to the upper class thanks to him. From when he was very little, Luxord learned one principle that became the basis for much of his life: Gambling.

Life was well for him until he reached the age of fifteen, when his father was murdered when a particular gamble and bet went horribly wrong. In attempt to save her son from a similar fate, Luxord’s mother took him and the both of them temporarily left Gilgamesh, only returning for important, choice events involving the upper class.

However, time spent away from a city he grew up in made him grow accustomed to loneliness and rage as his mother tried to reform his life and make him unlearn everything that was taught to him since he was born, hoping that her son will one day return to the broken city as an upstanding citizen. Meanwhile, Luxord had no plans to change.

Charming his mother from day one into thinking that he had given up the ways his father taught him, it was only a matter of time until he struck. Picking his eighteenth birthday for the occasion, he lured his mother into a seemingly innocent game of cards, from which he ended up stripping her of everything that made her part of the upper class. Two years later, he returned to Gilgamesh City with the idea of continuing where his dead father had left off, all the while living under the status given to him through his mother’s efforts over the years.

When he reached the age of twenty-five, Luxord took an interest in even shadier business, the Black Market, and through his dealings over for the next few years, he learned of the Organization. Quickly, he set out to become the tenth member of what he saw to be as another game of thrill and chance.

For some quirky reason, Luxord is rarely seen without a pair of dice or a deck of fifty-two playing cards, claiming that he’s always prepared for a game or two. When he's not in one of his casinos, betting on roulette or playing poker, he can be seen entertaining others with tricks of illusion or just playing solitaire by himself in the townsquare.
